Premiere Pro support for older Intel graphic cards

If you're running Premiere Pro on older Windows machines and have stability issues, update your drivers to the latest version.

Note:

If you're logged in as a Guest or Standard User, Windows will not permit you to install the driver.Some organizations don't allow users to regulate what they install and how they can manipulate the system and application settings. In such a scenario, contact your system admin for assistance installing the driver.

Driver installation procedure

Before you begin

Back up your boot volume. Learn how to create a system image in Windows 10.

If you are using

Update to

Baytrail/3rd generation Intel cards (Win 7/8.1/10) 

4th generation Intel cards (Win 7/8.1) 

4th generation Intel cards (Win 10) and Braswell/Cherry Trail/5th generation Intel cards (Win 7/8.1/10)

6th generation Intel cards (Win 7/8.1/10)

  1. Quit all Adobe applications currently running on your desktop. 
  2. Download and use the Intel Driver and Support Assistant to get the latest drivers for your GPU.
  3. If the Intel Driver and Support Assistant cannot identify the driver you need, install an older driver from the available drivers.
  4. Follow the installation screen instructions. 
  5. Once the drivers are installed, select OK, and finally, choose Next to restart your computer. Reboot your machine even if the setup doesn’t prompt you.

Verify driver installation 

  1. For Windows 10: Right-click the Windows Start icon or open the Start menu and search for Device Manager. Select the Display Adapters section. 
  2. Double-click the installed display adapter in Device Manager
  3. Select the Driver tab and verify that the vendor is Intel.
