Lift and paste frames

Perform a "lift" edit to remove frames from your sequence and then "paste" them at a different point in the timeline, leaving a gap in their place.
Lifting and pasting can be useful when you want to remove a portion of a clip and place it elsewhere without affecting the overall duration of your sequence.
Before you begin
Import clips and create a sequence. Use the controls in the Program Monitor to specify the sequence’s In and Out points.
Lift and paste a portion of a clip and place it elsewhere without impacting the overall duration of your sequence.
- In the Timeline panel, select the headers of the tracks from which you want to lift frames.
- In the Program Monitor, select the Lift icon.
- Select the header of the target track where you want to place the lifted frames.
- Move the playhead to the location where you want to paste the lifted frames.
- Select Edit > Paste.
Result
The lifted frames are moved and pasted at the playhead location in the target track.
