Error code 713: UAC permissions required

Error code 713 indicates that your Windows User Account Control (UAC) doesn't have the right permissions to install your app.

Solution

Enable UAC and try to install your app again. To enable UAC, follow the steps given below:

  1. Ensure that you are logged on as an Administrator to enable UAC.

  2. Type "UAC" in the Windows search field and then select Change User Account Control settings in the search results.

  3. You can see the slider at the Never notify. To turn UAC on, drag the slider up to any of the following selections and then select OK.

    • Always notify me when: Programs try to install software or make changes to my computer and when I make changes to Windows settings.
    • Notify me only when programs try to make changes to my computer (Default): Don’t notify me when I make changes to Windows settings.
    • Notify me only when programs try to make changes to my computer (do not dim my desktop): Don’t notify me when I make changes to Windows settings.
  4. You may be prompted to confirm your selection or enter an administrator password.

  5. Restart your computer.

If the above steps do not work, you can enable UAC via Windows Registry using the following steps:

  1. Type regedit.exe in the search field on your taskbar, and then select regedit.exe in the search results.

  2. Navigate to the following path: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System

  3. Double-click on the key EnableLUA and change the value data to 1.

  4. Save the changes and restart your computer.
