    Error code 10: Verification of existing GC installation failed

    Error code 10: Verification of existing GC installation failed

    Error code 10 indicates that gccustomhook failed to verify the older version of Adobe Genuine Service running on the user machine before installing the latest version.

    The location of existing installation is:

    • Windows: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\AdobeGCClient
    • macOS: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/AdobeGCClient

    Solution

    Follow the steps to resolve the error:

    1. Delete the AdobeGCClient folder along with all its contents.

    2. Relaunch the Creative Cloud desktop app.

    3. Accept or deny the consent on the Adobe Genuine Service consent dialogue that appears based on your requirements.
