Known issues and limitations
Version: Sampler 4.5.2. Pre-Release Beta #4 builds, November 5th, 2024)
Sampler with HP Z Captis workflow is available on Windows only for now.
Physically disconnecting the device while a scan is in progress does not stop the capture. If the device is disconnected during the capture, please wait 30 seconds before reconnecting it so it can reconnect to the ongoing capture session.
When manually importing images from the HP Z Captis, they are wrongly detected in 32bit floating point format. While this does not impair the quality of the result, it can lead to memory outage and cause errors at export. Select the Image import layer is selected in the Layers panel, and you can change the format of the images in the Properties panel.
The four maps being exported today are the Base color, Normal, Height, Opacity.
When closing the window during a capture, the metadata that were filled in are lost.
When clicking on any of the “Browse content” or “Shut down” buttons during the transfer of the data from Captis via USB, the transfer stops.
On Windows, the cache path must NOT contain non-english characters (all characters must be in the LATIN-1 table). If the user has a username in another language (Japanese, Greek...), then the default cache path will be invalid and the user has to change it before doing a 3D capture.
If you have TDR issues, please refer to this documentation page from Sustance Painter which should help fix them.
