Creative work often involves generating an initial concept, refining specific details, organizing related assets, and assembling everything into a final deliverable. The complete process might require you to switch between multiple tools and platforms.
The new generation and editing experience (private beta) in Adobe Firefly brings together generative AI, project and asset management, and editing tools, allowing you to move from concept to finished product without ever having to switch workspaces.
Rather than treating generation, editing, and organization as separate workflows, Firefly recognizes that these activities naturally flow into each other. You can generate an image, edit a specific element without starting over, save it to a project alongside related content, use the generated image to create a video, and edit the video —all within the same connected environment.
Benefits of the new generation and editing workspace
Firefly's unified workspace combines several capabilities that allow you to create and carry an idea from initial exploration through final production:
- Connected generation and editing: Create images and videos using AI-powered generation, then refine them with editing tools without leaving your workspace or losing your work-in-progress. This integrated approach means you can experiment freely during generation and refine details afterward.
- Project-based organization: Keep related generations, media files, timelines, and other assets together in projects, making it easier to find previous work and continue where you left off.
- Reusable creative elements: Build a library of Elements, reusable creative assets that represent specific visual concepts—a character design, a product you're featuring, or a location. Rather than describing the same character in every prompt, create an Element once and apply it to new generations, helping make sure that visual identity remains consistent even as you explore different scenes or compositions.
- Integrated video editor: Use Timeline to sequence video clips, arrange content, and refine timing directly within Firefly. Easily arrange generated video clips, adjust timing, combine multiple sequences, and refine the flow of your video project without exporting to external editing software.
For projects that combine still images and video, or workflows that involve generating multiple video segments, Timeline helps you assemble finished content while maintaining access to your source generations and project assets.
- Persistent creative context: Your projects, elements, and work history remain accessible, so you can return to earlier ideas or build on previous generations as your project develops.
