Select an AI model for generative control

Learn how to choose between different AI models to finetune generative results in Adobe Photoshop.

Choose models with Generate Image

In a new document, select Generate Image .

In the Contextual Task Bar, select the model selector to view available AI models. 

Review the model options grouped as Adobe or Partner models.

  • Adobe models: Firefly Image 5, Firefly Image 3
  • Partner models: Gemini 3.1 (with Nano Banana 2), Gemini 3 (with Nano Banana Pro), Gemini 2.5 (with Nano Banana), FLUX.2 pro

Enter a prompt and select Generate .

Choose models with Generative Fill

Select File > Open to select and open an image.

Select the area to add, remove, or modify content using Selection Brush   or any other selection tool.

Select Generative Fill  .

In the Contextual Task Bar, select the model selector to view available AI models.

Review the model options grouped as Adobe or Partner models:

  • Adobe models: Firefly Image 5, Firefly Fill & Expand, Firefly Image 1
  • Partner models: Gemini 3.1 (with Nano Banana 2), Gemini 3 (with Nano Banana Pro), Gemini 2.5 (with Nano Banana), FLUX.2 pro, FLUX.1 Kontext [pro]

Enter a prompt and select Generate .
