Edit a specific area of an image

Edit a small portion of an image using Selective Editing in Photoshop Express.

Selective Editing lets you complete a complex image editing process quickly. Select only the portion of an image that needs to be amended using Quick actions for accurate editing.

Selective Editing on an iOS device

  1. On the Photoshop Express homescreen, select Selective Editing from the Quick actions menu. 

  2. Select a photo from your device. 

  3. Select Refine Selection and then select Add   icon to manually add selection. 

  4. Use Smartcut or Brush depending on your requirements.

    Tip:
    • Select Light, Color, Effects, Details, and so on to modify your photo
    • You can also select FullSubject, or Background to select the specific area on the photo.
  5. Select   to save.

Selective Editing on an Android device

  1. Select Selective Editing from the Quick actions menu. 

  2. Select a photo from your device. 

  3. Select SELECTION TOOLS and then select Add Selection to manually add it.

    Tip:
    • Select ADJUSTMENTS, SPLIT TONE, COLOR MIX, and so on to modify your photo.
    • You can also select FullSubject, or Background to select the specific area on the photo.
  4. Select   to save.
