The AI-powered Assisted Culling in Lightroom Classic lets you efficiently organize photo collections and folders by identifying the best images, removing low-quality photos, and making editing adjustments. You can cull your pictures at the time of import and use the feature for albums already available in Lightroom Classic.
Select Catalog Settings > Metadata > Assisted Culling to turn on the Assisted Culling feature. Alternatively, select the drop-down in the Identity Plate and play the Auto Analysis to access Assisted Culling.

Once the analysis is completed, in the Assisted Culling panel, select the following from the Select section:
- Subject Focus: Selects photos with the subject in focus. Drag the slider to adjust the subject focus threshold.
- Eye Focus: Selects photos with the eyes in focus. Drag the slider to adjust the eye focus threshold.
- Select only photos with people's eyes detected: Selects photos where Lightroom Classic detects one or more people's eyes.
- Eyes Open: Selects photos with open eyes.
- Select only photos with people's eyes detected: Selects photos where Lightroom Classic detects one or more people's eyes.
- Select Can't Tell photos: Selects photos where it's unclear whether the eyes are open or closed.

In the Reject section, select the following options to exclude the photos from the collection:
- Exposure issues: Rejects photos with exposure problems.
- Misfires: Rejects photos captured accidentally.
- Documents and receipts: Rejects photos of documents or receipts.

In the Review section, select the following buttons to view photos from each category:
- Selects: Displays photos that Lightroom identified as the best shots based on the selected filters, marked with a Select badge.
- Rejects: Displays photos that Lightroom identified as low quality based on the selected filters, marked with a Reject badge.
- All: Displays all photos with Select and Reject badges.

Select Auto Stack to organize your images based on time and visual similarity.

In the Organize Results section, select Apply Batch Actions and then select any of the preset metadata to apply it to the selected and rejected images instead of sorting through each photo:
- Apply Flag: Marks selected or rejected photos as Pick, Unflagged, or Reject.
- Apply Rating: Applies star ratings for the selected or rejected images.
- Apply label: Tags specific colors to your images for visual organization.
- Add to Album: Selects an album from the dropdown menu to add the images.
- Remove from Album: Removes all the rejected images from your album.
- Delete: Deletes all the rejected images from your catalog permanently.

To view the criteria used to select or reject a photo and its score, do the following:
- Select Assisted Culling Info.
- In the Photo section, view the score and information for Subject Sharpness, Eye Sharpness, Eye Open, and more.
- In the Faces section, select each face to view the Eye Sharpness and Eye Open scores.
You can also hover over the Select or Reject badge on the image to view the criteria used to select or reject a photo based on the Assisted Culling options you selected.

To mark a photo selected or rejected regardless of its Assisted Culling score, do the following:
- Right-click the Select or Reject badge on the image in Grid view, Library Grid, or in the Filmstrip.
- Select Mark as Reject or Mark as Select accordingly.
