Dual monitor support for editing photos

(available on Lightroom on desktop)

Access dual monitor support in Lightroom to enhance editing efficiency in Lightroom on desktop. With dual monitor support, Lightroom allows the secondary window to show the grid view while the primary window shows the detail view for better editing and selection.

Once you have connected a secondary monitor to your desktop, select the dual monitor icon from the toolbar in Lightroom on desktop to connect your secondary monitor. Alternatively, you can also view your edit in Detail view on a secondary window by selecting View > Secondary Window > and selecting the required option. This opens a secondary window on your primary device. You can switch the secondary window to the Detail view and lock the appearance of the image, allowing for side-by-side before-and-after comparisons across primary and secondary windows, enhancing editing precision. The secondary window includes flagging, rating, magnification, and toolbar positioning controls.

Note:

Both the windows cannot be in grid view simultaneously. Therefore, switching one to the Grid view will revert the other to the Detail view.

Quickly fix distorted angles in a photo

(currently available on Lightroom for mobile)

Nested in the Actions panel, the Fix angle tool automatically corrects distorted frames and angles in a photo.

  1. Open a photo you want to edit in Lightroom for mobile and select Actions.

  2. Lightroom will analyze your photo and then suggest quick actions based on the image.

  3. Select Fix angle to automatically fix the angles in your image.

The Actions feature is currently available as Early access. You can share your experience with the Lightroom for mobile team. For more details, see Actions in Lightroom for mobile iOS and Android.
