Add page numbers to your PDF

The Number pages online tool allows you to easily add page numbers to your PDF. It offers customization options for numbering formats, font styles, sizes, and colors, giving you flexibility to meet specific formatting requirements.

Steps to add page numbers to a PDF:

  1. Sign in to Acrobat online services with your Adobe ID and password or with your social (Facebook or Google) account.

  2. In the top navigation bar, select EditNumber Pages.

  3. To select a PDF file and add numbers to it, follow one of these steps, and then select Continue.
    • Choose a file from the Recents or Documents list.
    • Add files from your computer or drag-and-drop them onto the highlighted area.
    • Select Add an account and choose a file from any of your online accounts.
    • Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop files directly onto the Number pages tool on the Edit page.
  4. The selected PDF opens in Acrobat online, and the Number pages toolset appears on the left.

  5. In the Number pages toolset you can do the following:

    • To choose the page number's position, select the desired area of the rectangle thumbnail. 
    • Specify the page range where you wish to include the page numbers.

    • Select More to expand the tool list and customize the format of the page numbers. You can select the numbering style, font style, size, and more in the Format Number section.

  6. When done with your changes, select Save. The page numbers are added, and the PDF is automatically saved to Adobe cloud storage.
