Getting started with Acrobat in Chrome

Welcome to the Adobe Acrobat extension for Google Chrome. The extension makes your document tasks easier and faster by allowing you to interact with Acrobat directly from within Chrome. With this all-new extension for Chrome, you can easily:

  • Open your PDFs in Acrobat online to add comments and share them for review.
  • Fill in forms and add your signature with the Fill & Sign tool.
  • Quickly switch from viewing PDFs in Chrome to opening them in Acrobat on your desktop.
  • Convert to PDF services using Adobe Acrobat widget shown directly in the Google Search window.
  • Convert, compress, and combine PDF files in your browser.

Working with Acrobat tools in Chrome

When you open a PDF file in Chrome, the PDF opens in the Acrobat extension. You can use the Acrobat tools on the right-pane to convert, edit, or sign the PDFs.

Convert web pages into PDF files

You can convert web pages to rich, high-quality PDF files that maintain the look and feel of the original content by doing the following:

  1. Open a web page in a new Chrome tab or refresh the existing tab that has a web page open. The Acrobat extension is enabled once the web page is completely downloaded.

  2. Click the Adobe Acrobat icon in the upper-right corner of the Chrome toolbar, and then choose Convert webpage to PDF.

  3. Enter the file name in the Save As dialog box, and then click Save.

  4. The web page is converted to PDF and opens in Acrobat.

Add web pages to existing PDF Files

You can add a web page to an existing PDF. First, the web page is converted to PDF, and then it's appended to the end of the existing PDF. Do the following:

  1. Open a web page in a new Chrome tab or refresh the existing tab that has a web page open. The Acrobat extension is enabled once the web page is completely downloaded.

  2. Click the Adobe Acrobat icon displayed in the upper-right corner of the Chrome toolbar, and then choose Add to existing PDF.

  3. Browse and select the existing PDF in the Open dialog box, and then click Open.

  4. The web page is converted to PDF and then added to the existing PDF. The updated PDF opens in Acrobat.
